Essential Septic System Tips for Northeast Texas Homeowners

Northeast Texas Disposal offers helpful tips to prolong the lifespan of your septic system and keep it running at optimal performance.

USE WATER CONSERVATIVELY

Conserve water in your daily usage. Keep in mind that all the water entering the septic system needs to be absorbed by the drain field.

FLUSH RESPONSIBLY

Refrain from placing structures like patios, decks, driveways, swimming pools, or garages over the septic system.

KEEP IT CLEAR

Be aware of wet spots in the yard above the septic field, any unpleasant odors, slow drainage, gurgling sounds in the plumbing, or backups.

MAINTENANCE

Schedule your septic tank cleaning every two to four years, and check the baffles after each cleaning. For aerobic systems, clean them every other year.
